Shadow

After many months of slave laboring, I have managed to rebuild the engine of my '84 Honda Shadow VT700C. . . twice!

It all started when the head gasket in the front cylinder blew. I completed a top-end overhaul using hand-made copper head gaskets. . . unbeknownst to me (but knownst to others), copper headgaskets will not work in the factory heads of an '84 Shadow as the heads and decks are not milled perfectly smooth.

Long story short, the first time didn't work so I had to do it again. This time using the proper gaskets and gasket kit. Another top-end overhaul and here I am in the middle of January in Tulsa. It is cold. There is ice on the ground.

I wanted to start the bike today, but as we al know, fuel does not vaporize (atomize) very well at 20 degrees F. I managed to kill the battery trying, but I suppose  we will just have to wait until a nice 50 degree day!

That's right, I did it in the living room!
